COURSE FEES
Half of the course fee is payable when enrolments are made more than two months before the start of the course. The remaining balance will be automatically debited from the provided payment card two months before the course start date, unless otherwise instructed.Full payment of the course fee is required at the time of enrolment for enrolments made within two months of the course start date.
If paying in a currency other than euro, the exchange rate applicable at the time of each payment will be used.
REGISTRATION FOR EVENTS OR SINGLE SESSIONS
All participants for individual events or single sessions of courses must register and pay the appropriate fee. This can be done in advance or on arrival for the event/session however we cannot guarantee admission to those who do not register in advance.
LIBRARY MEMBERSHIPS
Memberships are paid at the time of registration and are non-refundable and non-suspendable.
HOW TO PAY
By Debit/Credit Card - You can:
- Provide your credit card details on your enrolment form. We accept Visa and MasterCard. There is no fee for card transactions.
- Make payment online via our registration platform Bookeo
- Call our Customer Service team on 055 26778270 between 14:30 and 18:30 Monday to Friday
- Pay in-person at the Library customer service desk, Lungarno Guicciardini 9, between 14:30 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.
By Bank Transfer - You can pay:
- In Sterling (GBP): Transfer funds to our Barclays account in the UK. Contact us at bif@britishinstitute.it for the necessary bank details.
- In Euros (EUR): Transfer funds to our Euro account in Italy. Contact us for the necessary bank details.
Please ensure the student’s name and course details are included in the payment reference. A screenshot or email copy of the payment confirmation is sufficient proof of payment.
Important: Payments to the Barclays account must only be made in GBP and payments to the Euro account must only be made in EUR. Transfers in other currencies may not be accepted or could incur additional bank charges, which are the sender’s responsibility. In the case of fees being applied by our bank please ensure the full payment amount is to be sent after accounting for applicable bank fees. If the amount received is less than the total due the outstanding balance must be settled upon your arrival at the Institute.
CANCELLATIONS
All withdrawals from courses require written notification by email to the British Institute. If you do not receive confirmation of your cancellation within two days please get in contact us again.
CANCELLATIONS FOR FULL COURSE BOOKINGS
Cancellations made up to six weeks before the start date of enrolment: 90% of the paid fee will be refunded.
Cancellations made between four and six weeks before the start date: 50% of the paid fee will be refunded.
Cancellations made less than four weeks before the start date: due to operational costs and preparatory arrangements, no refunds can be provided.
CANCELLATION OF ATTENDANCE AN AN EVENT(S) OR SINGLE SESSION(S)
Participants who have registered for events or attendance at single session(s) of our courses may defer their participation and request registration at another event or session with the same fee by cancelling at least 24 hours before the event/session.
No refunds will be given for cancellation of event /session registrations (unless the event / session is cancelled by the British Institute).
CANCELLATION BY THE BRITISH INSTITUTE OF FLORENCE
The Institute reserves the right to cancel a course if three weeks before the start of the course the number of enrolments is below the minimum number of students required to run the course.
The Institute also reserves the right to cancel a course due to reasons beyond the Institute’s control. In the event of a course being cancelled course fees paid in advance will be refunded in full but the Institute will have no responsibility for any other costs you may incur as a result of the cancellation.
Alternatively registered participants will be offered the opportunity to defer attendance to a future course.
If for any reason an event is cancelled by the British Institute, registered participants will be offered the opportunity to defer their registration to another event; if that is not possible, then a refund of the registration fee may be given.
ACADEMIC HOURS
The term "academic hour" refers to a lesson duration of 50 minutes.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
The Institute is closed on Italian public holidays. Classes are not scheduled on these dates and no refund is due. Holiday dates are listed in course programmes available on our website.
GENERAL
The Institute reserves the right to modify course programmes and our programme of events. The Institute accepts no liability for the loss or damage to the personal possessions of students. Students are liable for any damage they inflict to the Institute’s property or premises. The Institute accepts no responsibility for the actions or activities of students. Admission of students under the age of 18 is at the discretion of the Director.
