Born in Bulgaria, Maria Martinova trained at the Juilliard School in New York and then theRoyal Academy of Music in London. A multiple competition winner, she has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in Europe and beyond, including the Jahrhundert Halle, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, , the Barbican, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and Wiener Recital Hall A truly daring artist, she has also established herself as one of the most talked-about names on the international contemporary tango scene as the founder and artistic director of TANGUARDA. Her discography includes recordings for EMI Records, Delphian Records, LP Classics, the Bulgarian National Radio and Rubicon Classics.
