Grand-Tour Florence

Join us in March 2025 for expanded four-week programme exploring eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century Florence!

Our Grand-Tour Florence course examines the fascinating, lesser-known currents of Florentine art after the Renaissance. Through the patronage of later Medici and Lorraine Grand Dukes, Florence became a highlight of the Grand Tour, and home to a dazzling array of foreign aesthetes, bohemians and aristocrats, paving the way for Florence’s elevation to capital of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Etruria. Discover the historic allure of Destination Florence online or at the British Institute cultural centre in Palazzo Lanfredini!
