THE FORGER'S CRAFT PART II: THE FORGING OF A 'RENAISSANCE' PAINTING
A lecture by Alan Pascuzzo
Art forgers have been around since the ancient Greeks and Romans and are still active today. Some believe that a percentage of paintings in museums are not authentic but the products of master forgers. What does it take to make a forged Renaissance painting? Through a step-by-step reconstruction of 'forging' a Renaissance painting, art historian and professional artist Alan Pascuzzi will reveal the inner details of the forger's craft by exploring the motives, methods and mindset of forging 15th century paintings.
