Making the Renaissance
Special Programme by Alan Pascuzzi
How were the great masterpieces of the Florentine Renaissance created? What techniques did celebrated masters such as Michelangelo, Masaccio and Titian use to create their paintings and sculptures? Making the Renaissance is a brand new series which aims to answer these questions and more with a fully hands-on experience!
Starting on 12th October, we offer a series of five very special half day sessions on Making the Renaissance. The programme will be led by Alan Pascuzzi, who is both a fine art historian and a practicing sculptor and painter, who uses exclusively Renaissance techniques. Each session will begin with a site visit to study some outstanding examples of a particular technique. Then the group will return to the Institute for a hands-on workshop, making a small artwork using precisely that technique! No prior experience needed - just join in and give it a go!
I really enjoyed the morning, Alan is very warm and friendly and funny and clearly immensely knowledgeable. AS
The session was absolutely brilliant and much better than I could have ever expected. HC
The programme was absolutely wonderful. Alan has a wonderful way of telling the story and explaining everything very clearly. SJ
