The series begins with a short overview of the life and works of Giovanni Bocaccio before moving into the Prologue and Introduction of The Decameron. We will then discuss Day I, whose themes under Queen Pampinea include religion, sainthood as medieval performance, and the use of quick wit to obtain a desired outcome.
