Week III

Tuesday 15th October at 18:00

After another Prologue, we come to Day IV and the rule of King Filostrato who decrees that the stories will be about lovers who come to misery—here we will discuss love relics and traditional fairytale motifs like that of the eaten heart, among others. Day V is ruled by Queen Fiammetta who switches to lighter stories about lovers who find happiness after a period of misfortune. Sex and marriage, and the art of courtly love are themes on this day.
