Week V

Tuesday 29th October at 18:00

Day VIII is ruled by Queen Lauretta, who decides on stories about playing tricks—ones that women play on men, that men play on women, and that men play on other men. This day gives us one of the most entertaining stories in the whole of The Decameron—‘Calandrino and the Heliotrope’—which we will examine in all of its brilliance. Day IX under the reign of Queen Emilia is another open day, allowing for some members of the group to tell some very naughty tales indeed.
