What is the nature of magic? Where does it come from and who has the power to use it to influence the natural world in supernatural ways? During the Renaissance these questions were being asked and answered by the Church and by scholars. This lesson looks at the practice of magic and witchcraft, and its (perhaps surprising) place in the society of the time.
