Negli anni abbiamo visto diverse generazioni di studenti crescere (e anche noi siamo cresciuti insieme a loro).

MONTE SAN MARTINO TRUST

In collaborazione con The British Institute of Florence, l'associazione Monte San Martino ha offerto agli studenti tra i 18 e i 25 anni 4 borse di studio per un corso di inglese in Inghilterra per un mese con alloggio in famiglia. 

Le borse di studio sono state distribuite rispettivamente a:

uno studente di The British Institute of Florence,

tre studenti dei corsi British presso le scuole statali,

due studenti dei corsi British presso l'Istituto Alberghiero Saffi.

L'associazione Monte San Martino ricorda in modo permanente il grande coraggio, la generosità e l'umanità dimostrata dal popolo italiano nell'aiutare i prigionieri di guerra fuggiti e i rifugiati politici e razziali nel periodo 1943-45.

Il suo nome deriva da un villaggio delle Marche, una delle regioni del Nord Italia in cui si trovavano i campi che ospitavano gli 80.000 prigionieri alleati catturati durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.

"I am really happy to have won this Bursary, and I deeply thank both the British Charity Monte San Martino Trust and The British Institute of Florence for giving me this fantastic opportunity! The liberation from Nazi-Fascism is a topic that’s very dear to me, and I was struck by the story of Mr Keith Killby and the other British prisoners, who were helped and saved by Italian women and men with great courage and generosity. I am therefore twice as proud to receive this Bursary. It will be a new and challenging experience, which I am sure will enrich me – not only because I’ll be able to attend an English course in the very famous Oxford, but also because I’ll have the chance to live with an English family and to meet many girls and boys from various origins and backgrounds… I can’t wait!"
