Painting in the Age of Cimabue
This lecture will explore the life, works and legacy of Bencivieni di Pepo, better know as Cimabue (c. 1240 - 1302) including his groundbreaking interpretation of Chrisitian devotional imagery including the Madonna and Child, along with Christ’s Crucifixion, both on panel and in fresco painting.
