Post-Black Death Art in Florence and Tuscany

 

This lecture will investigate what happened to Florentine and Tuscan painting after the traumatic events of the plague: A rise in devotion to miraculous images, novel iconography, and a renewed attention to the decoration of family chapels, oratories and hospitals.
